8.31.26 S Market Street Tier 1 Loss of Positive Pressure

NOTICE

Dear Water Customer:

Water service will be turned off : Monday, August 31, 2026 from 7:30 AM until repairs are complete along South Market Street from Pine Street to Walnut/University Avenue. All effected properties have been notified via a posting at the property. If you did not receive the notice, and do not live/work in that specific block, then you are not included in this notice. 

You may experience discoloration or cloudy water after the service has been restored.  Simply let the water run for a few minutes until it becomes clear. There will be a boil order in place for the effected properties in the block mentioned until you receive a notice stating the boil order has been lifted. The boil order process can take a few days as the Water Supervisor must follow DEP guidelines for water testing after a loss of water/positive pressure.

Please make any preparations needed to insure you have reserve water during this period.

Please note the section of roadway on South Market Street between Pine Street and Walnut Street/University Avenue will be closed and traffic is being rerouted around the block until repairs are complete. UPDATE: ROADWAY OPEN AND DETOUR REMOVED. 8/31/26 BY 10:30AM.
