Planning Commission

The Selinsgrove Planning Commission consists of five members appointed by Borough Council.

The members serve 4-year overlapping terms.

The Planning Commission has the responsibility to review all proposed Subdivision and Land Development Plans, and Conditional Use applications and to make recommendations in that regard to Borough Council.

The Planning Commission has formalized its goals and policies in a Comprehensive Plan, a Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, a Zoning Ordinance, and a Zoning Map. Through meetings and public hearings, it oversees the administration of these documents, which are revised and updated as the community evolves. When requested by Borough Council, the Commission is responsible for making recommendations concerning all of these documents, promoting public interest in and understanding of planning in general, plus numerous other planning matters.

Subdivisions are reviewed by the Selinsgrove Borough Planning Commission and the Snyder County Planning Commission and are approved by the Selinsgrove Borough Council.

The Selinsgrove Planning Commission meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers of the Selinsgrove Community Building, provided that there is business to conduct. In Selinsgrove Borough, the members of the Planning Commission receive no compensation.
