Selinsgrove Shade Tree Commission Needs Volunteers for November 5th Fall Tree Planting at 10AM

Please be aware that the Shade Tree Commission’s 2022 Fall Tree Planting is scheduled for Saturday, November 5^th at 10am. The group will be meeting in the Chestnut Street parking lot (the municipal lot by Inch’s Garage and behind the Kind Café). The Shade Tree Commission is looking for volunteers to assist with planting that day so please let Borough Manager Lauren Martz know via email at lmartz@selinsgrove.org if you can help or simply show up to the parking lot that morning at 10am. Please be sure to bring gloves with you!!! Pizza will be provided to all volunteers assisting with planting that day. Additionally, the Arbor Day proclamation will tentatively be read at the end of the planting (roughly around noon or whenever the trees are finished being planted) and a group photo will need to be taken for our Tree City USA Application. Please share this message with anyone you can think of that may be interested in assisting with the fall tree planting. If you are interested in receiving a free “shade tree” at your home for the next planting in the Spring of 2023 please contact the Borough Manager to be added to the list.
