Dauntless Hook & Ladder Fire Company

Dauntless Hook and Ladder is stationed in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. DH&L covers all of Selinsgrove Borough, and Penn Township, with mutual aid calls to all of Snyder County, as well as Union and Northumberland Counties. DH&L also is a partner with TASK FORCE 1 out of Northumberland County, which is a boat and diver rescue squad. We have, in the station, two boats, Boat 8-1 and Boat 8-2.

Truck 8-1 is the only Ladder Truck located on Snyder County’s East End, and provides mutual aid to Union and Northumberland County. DH&L has a racetrack rescue unit, for Selinsgrove Speedway, consisting of three pickup trucks equipped with rescue equipment as well as Rescue 8-1 as a standby *just in case*. Dauntless Hook and Ladder is a 100% volunteer operated Fire Department, with a count around 15 to 20 active firefighters for day and evening hours. Our station currently houses the following pieces of apparatus:

We do this for our community, not because we have to, but because we want to. Our friends and neighbors count on us to protect them and their loved ones. We are volunteers on standby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When our pagers go off, you can count on us to respond to the call wherever and whatever it may be.
